Aug. 6th, 2007 04:47 pmHappy dance time.
I get to start a new job tomorrow afternoon.
I will be doing electrical assembly/disassembly for Nintendo in Redmond. As in, your 3 year old nephew feeds quarters to your new Wii, so you have to send it in for servicing.
Fun job perk: although I'll be working as a "contractor" (read: temp), I'll still have access to the Nintendo employee store, which means discounted new and refurbished systems, games, and accessories.
I'll be working a swing shift for around 8 weeks at $11 an hour. After that point the swing shift is supposed to be going away, and turning into a day shift at $10 an hour.
Now, interesting side note: evidently Nintendo has a policy where all temps who work there for 12 consecutive months have to take a 2 month break. However, when I was there on Friday they did mention that they'd had 4 or 5 people hired permanently by Nintendo in the last month or so, so there might be the possibility of more long-term prospects.
It's about goddamn time. I haven't worked since the weekend before the Super Bowl.
