I just haven't had any time to myself really for weeks. Needless to say, it's driving me batshit. But I digress. Mary has finally been released back to work. Well, half days until Wednesday, then back to full time. I love her and all, but being around her almost 24/7 is a bit much.

I finally got around to filing my taxes. Not long after my last post, as a matter of fact. I haven't gotten the check yet, but I'm expecting it soon. Okay, it's more hoping than expecting.

This one's a killer. We called up Wells Fargo mortgage and GMAC to try and set up automatic payments on the house and car last week. Wells Fargo got the message last year during the bankruptcy that we wanted to reaffirm the loan. No problem. GMAC, on the other hand, apparently didn't. They discharged the car. They wouldn't let us set up automatic payments, they wouldn't tell us what we had left to pay on the car. All they'd tell us was we could continue to pay for it, and they'd send us the title when it was paid off. They also told us that since the debt was discharged, we could walk away from the car anytime, no harm done.

So, after about a week of discussion, we came to the decision that we weren't too keen on continuing to pay for something when we had no idea how much more we were going to pay, particularly when it was doing nothing to help restore Mary's credit. Couple that with the fact that gas prices are expected to top $3.00 a gallon by the end of summer, and my little brain started working. I suggested we go take a look at the Toyota Prius, and have a chat with one of the sales bozos and see what kind of financing we'd be able to get. Well, we'd probably have gotten stuck with something along the lines of 15-20%. Not happenin. So Mary calls her mother, who has almost immaculate credit. Long story short (too late), her mom agrees to buy the car for us in her name. Maybe after about a year or so we can switch it from her name to ours or something. Regardless, we now have a new car. Nice car too. Very strange though. The "key" is more like the remote unlock button. It slips into a notch in the dashboard, and there's a push button to start it. The gear shifter is in the dash as well, and it's little more than a knob. There's too much bizarre stuff to list, but if you ever get the chance, check one out. It's a trip.

I could probably add more, but I need a shower.
