1- You are asked to make a speech at a local university, about anything you want. what topic do you pick, and what do you bring as "learning aids"?
Being the volcanonerd junkie I am, that would have to be it. I'd bring an assload of visual aids (videos, photos, slides, etc.), and probably the jar of ash I have from the 1980 eruption.
2- what is the weirdest combination of food that you absolutely love?
The only strange combination of food I can think of that I actually like would be something I tried in my teens. Chocolate chip cookies or brownies dipped in salsa. Stop gagging. It's good!
3- name one materialistic thing that you could never live without.
My computer. I admit it. I'm an addict.
4- whats the hardest thing you had to go through in your life, and what was the lesson you learned?
Probably the couple of years I spent as a street kid in Seattle. Sleeping in bushes, under bridges, in parking garages, under parking garages, in libraries, and eating rather infrequently isn't something I would wish on anyone. But it did teach me that I can not only survive just about anything, but it also taught me to have an even greater respect for what I have now.
5- whats the best thing you had to go through...
As crazy as it sounds, probably being with my abusive ex, but let me tell you why. If I hadn't met her, I wouldn't have moved to Tacoma, started working at Castle, met my wife, and finally been comfortable enough with someone to get to know myself a little better.
