Pfffff, you didn't see the ghetto-ass thing I had prior. Roughly 5 years old, frequently used as a coaster, dropped a few times, had water spilled on it at least once, battery won't charge, strangely colored vertical lines running down the right side of the screen, BSODs every time I try to play any kind of Shockwave game, just upgraded for 128m to 512m of RAM...

Vast improvement.

Actually, for a Dell with comparable RAM, processor speed, screen size, and software it would have been roughly $300 more. Hell, I even looked into a bare-bones system from PC Club (without all the bonus software, and just basic Vista) and it came out to $200 more.

I can, however, comfort myself with the fact that it's not a fucking Compaq.
